Bear Cub & Blueberries (Youth)
Bears love berries! Living in Whistler means we get to watch bears snacking on berries of all kinds. Black bear cubs are born in January and stay with their mothers for about a year and half before heading off to find their own area to live. By one year they weigh approximately 80 pounds, but females reach up to 175 pounds and males 400 pounds! Black bears can climb trees, are strong swimmers and can run up 60 km’s per hour.
