Trevor's Line Trucker Hat
After exploring the world’s great ranges, our Coast Range can look like speed bumps. But these mountains are truly a paradise for skiing. They cater to the beginner backcountry skier doing their first traverse on the Garibaldi Neve, to world class descents that will test the most advanced glisse artists. Within an hour of the tame slopes of Whistler Resort lie endless twisting couloirs and terrifying spine walls such as the face pictured, which is only 20km as the crow flies from Whistler Mountain. With its origin in the Pacific, copious amounts of moist snow sticks to these steep skiable features. In late winter, many of the best big mountain skiers migrate north to Sea-to-Sky country to polish their skills on these spine walls before heading to Alaska for the spring filming season. But some never leave!
